TVR GRANTURA Mk2
Type

With Prestigious Period Race History
One of only 4 Factory Built "Lightweight" Mk2 cars, originally owned by Arnold Burton and predominantly driven by John Woolfe.
Arnold Burton was at that time the major sponsor / shareholder of the TVR factory and you could therefore presume this car should be considered as a "works" car.
After driving this Grantura, John Woolfe went on to be part of the TVR factory team's Le Mans effort in 1962 and became a regular Le Mans driver until his untimely death at the wheel of a Porsche 917 on the very first lap of 1969 race.
Originally registered "AUD 100" the very early history of the car is undocumented, however Arnold Burton has confirmed his original ownership and recalls John Woolfe driving the car at various venues which included Goodwood and Silverstone.
Chassis number; 7C 238 would confirm the car was originally supplied with a 1216cc "Climax" motor and the car originally competed in this configuration including the Fordwater Trophy at Goodwood in April 1961, later in that season an MGA engine was installed for the International Silverstone Empire Trophy meeting in July 1961.
During the following year and as the TVR factory developed the later Mk3 type chassis, AUD100 changed hands and was raced in the BRSCC British Sports Car Championship during 1962-64 with the MGA motor and fitted with a HRG alloy cylinder head and running with twin 40DCOE Webers during the second ownership of Mike Sargeant.
The third owner Bill Cook raced the car in club events predominantly at Brands Hatch and Snetterton until the car's racing retirement in 1971.
AUD100 was used sparingly on the road during the early 1970s and has been mostly dry stored and unused since.
Unfortunately, during this time, the original registration number was sold off and an age related number is now recorded on the V5 registration document.
The speedometer reading of 3,150 miles ( three thousand, one hundred and fifty ) is believed to be correct and old MOT certificates help confirm accuracy.
Having owned the car for many years awaiting restoration, I have now decided to offer the car for sale in its current amazingly original and un-spoilt condition.
Mechanically, the car is exactly as it was last used and retains the HRG cylinder head, Weber carbs, etc.
The original Oxford Blue paint has cracks and flaking areas due to the body work's lack of rigidity yet traces of the original yellow stripe remain visible.
The Red Leather Interior of the car is simply superb and original. Some scrutineering labels from the 1960s are still hanging under the dash board.
The "Wobbly-Web" wheels appear undamaged and reasonably uncorroded and yes, there is a spare.
The car is for sale complete with a folder of history including both old style "Log Book" and new style V5 registration documents, DVLA archives, photographs and period negatives, old MOT certificates plus some old paperwork and hand written engine and specification information.
Obviously this car represents a rare and excellent opportunity for someone to obtain a superbly original car with period International race history which will be extremely eligible for most all very high profile events and obviously including the prestigious "Goodwood Revival".

1965
" LENHAM "
TRIUMPH SPITFIRE

Specs:
The early history of this actual car is unclear, however we are confident that very few "Lenham" bodied Triumph Spitfire cars were ever produced.
Based upon an early Triumph Spitfire chassis, floor-pan and inner body, the Lenham is fitted with this very attractive glass fibre "fastback" hard top and bonnet.
Original sills and doors remain and the original rear wings are then blended into this streamlined body shape.
Race prepared engine fitted with twin 40DCOE Webers.
4-2-1 Tubular Exhaust manifold.
Invoices include those for a race specification gearbox, Quaife Limited Slip Differential with 4.1 ratio final drive.
Dunlop race tyres on Le Mans style alloy wheels.
FIA specification rear roll bar,
fire extinguisher, race harness, etc.
We understand the car was restored to compete in the
2006 Goodwood Revival race meeting.
Used very sparingly since.
Car number 12 race decals are still attached.
Obviously a rare opportunity to buy a car of this type and although not eligible for FIA HTP papers, this car is still very likely to offer someone a very affordable passport into similarly prestigious events in years to come.

1964 TVR 200 Series / Griffith
An extremely rare opportunity to buy an original and unrestored TVR 200 Series.
More commonly known in the USA as a "Griffith".
Chassis number; 200 1 005.
Date of build; 1963 /64
The early history of this car is not clear, however it is believed to be one of a few cars sold by the TVR Factory into the UK market.
A letter dated October 1981 from the TVR factory ( TVR Engineering Ltd ) confirms the car was built as a TVR Ford 4.7 litre V8 "200 series" and registered during 1964.
Unfortunately, the original registration number and owner's details are unknown.
The car was apparently re-registered in Cumbria during 1971 and allocated the registration number; ARM357J. The car was officially documented at that time as being "rebuilt".
Since then, the TVR club have confirmed the original date of manufacture and the car has been allocated an age related UK registration number.
Without any doubt, the car has the wider Griffith chassis and Griffith bodywork from the period and although there is some evidence of a prior fitment of a larger engine, the car is currently fitted with an MGB 1798cc motor and transmission.
Having used the car during that summer, it was taken for an MOT test during October 2001. Although and most importantly the chassis appeared to be in good and sound condition, the car failed the test on leaking shock absorbers, one lose front wheel bearing, perished tyres and an inoperative front indicator lamp.
It has been dry stored since to this date.
Now offered for sale in "as stored" condition.
The sale includes much documentation from both the TVR factory, the TVR Car Club and the DVLA along with a new style UK V5 registration document.
PLEASE NOTE; I do not have, nor does the sale include any Ford V8 motor or transmission.
=Price; £30,500 (UK)
